Both creation and evolutionary theory explain why humans make many objectively poor individual and collective choices.
Humans’ scarcity brain and fear of uncertainty make us vulnerable to addictive behavior and to people who understand how to manipulate our emotions.
Humans need autonomy and community; we strive for self-determination while also striving to be part of a larger, collective plan and purpose.
Understanding the above points can allow us to prepare for and defend against the downsides of our human traits.
