About
Kevin Miller
Author · Retired Army Colonel · Educator · Public Speaker
Kevin Miller is a retired Army colonel, veteran K-12 educator, and lifelong advocate for human potential. With thirty-seven years of military service and more than two decades in education, he has dedicated his life to developing people and systems that bring out the best in both.
Kevin’s career in education spans teaching, school administration, and over thirteen years as an education consultant with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. In those roles he worked on hundreds of initiatives affecting tens of thousands of students, including the development of the Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship program, state education standards, and the opening of two charter high schools. His work consistently pointed to a singular truth: the greatest limiting factor in helping people achieve their potential is the structure within which they are asked to grow.
In the military, Kevin rose to the rank of Colonel, commanding a police mentor team in Afghanistan and teaching organizational development and leadership for the U.S. Army. The intersection of his military and educational experiences gave him a rare and powerful lens through which to see what is possible when people are truly empowered.
As the author of Know Power, Know Responsibility: How to Unleash the Potential of Every Child in America, he brings the principles of his message to a broader audience in Superhero Nation: Living the American Dream and Fulfilling America's Promise. His life’s mission is to help others unleash their true potential so they can collectively usher in a new age of innovation and problem solving.
Kevin lives with his wife of thirty years in Wisconsin and remains actively involved in supporting his two sons as they navigate their own journeys.
